A Trend of the Current Embryonic Stem Cell Study

Abstract

|
Embryonic stem (ES) cells are expected to be used for new therapeutic tools of many incurable disease because it´s self renewability and pluripotency. Many human and other mammalian ES cell lines were established and these results leaded the effective characterization and application of ES cells. Many kinds of research might be conducted with ES cells, such as transplantation, differentiation, basic application and therapeutic delivery system. For clinical application of the ES cells, however, there are some barriers that must be solved, and the research for solutions of these problems also in progress. In this paper, we briefly describe the recent studies using embryonic stem cells including culture, characterization, in vitro or in vivo differentiation, basic and clinical application of ES cells.
